As a key initiative for practical cooperation between China and Arab states, the China-Arab Cross-border E-commerce Platform has emerged as a new driving force for bilateral economic and trade ties, steering trade development from energy-dominated exchanges toward diversified digital cooperation.
Jointly built by governments and enterprises of both sides, the platform takes Yinchuan, Yiwu and Dubai as core hubs. It brings together leading platforms including Silutong, Yiwugou and JollyChic, forming a two-way trading network covering B2B and B2C models. It offers one-stop services such as multilingual trading, multi-currency payment, overseas warehouse delivery and customs clearance. Supported by 5G, cloud computing and other digital infrastructure, the platform facilitates efficient trade between Chinese small commodities, electromechanical products and Arabian specialties like spices and dates.
At the 7th China-Arab States Expo in 2025, 18 projects worth a total of 300 million yuan were signed at the cross-border e-commerce exhibition, covering logistics infrastructure, talent training and other industrial chains. Currently, the annual transaction volume of China-Arab cross-border e-commerce exceeds 50 billion US dollars, with the Middle Eastern market maintaining an annual growth rate of around 20%. The platform has become a vital channel for enterprises on both sides to expand markets.
Going forward, the platform will further adopt innovative applications such as AI product selection and live-streaming e-commerce, and promote industry-university-research collaboration. It will leverage digital technologies to advance high-quality China-Arab cooperation and set an example for digital collaboration among developing countries worldwide.
