The 18th BRICS Summit was grandly held in New Delhi, India from September 12 to 13 local time. Marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the BRICS mechanism, this grand event is of milestone significance. Leaders of all member states gathered to discuss multilateral cooperation, economic and trade win-win development, and industrial coordinated development based on the new situation of global economic development, gathering consensus and injecting momentum for the development of emerging market countries.
After two decades of development, the BRICS mechanism has grown into the most dynamic and influential cooperation platform for emerging economies in the world, breaking traditional trade barriers and continuously promoting the upgrading of the global economic governance system. Centering on the high-quality “Greater BRICS Cooperation”, the summit focused on in-depth discussions on key issues such as trade and investment facilitation, stability of global industrial and supply chains, intelligent manufacturing upgrading, and digital economy collaboration, striving to build a fairer, more inclusive and beneficial new global economic and trade order. China officially announced that it will take over the rotating presidency of BRICS in 2027 and host the next BRICS Leaders’ Summit.
During the summit, all member states reached a number of cooperation consensuses, adhering to the cooperative concepts of openness, inclusiveness and mutual benefit, continuously deepening in-depth cooperation in economy, trade, finance, industry, culture and other fields, and strengthening the connectivity of emerging markets. The summit has effectively boosted global trade confidence, eased the pressure on international economy and trade, and built a high-quality platform for domestic foreign trade manufacturing enterprises to explore overseas emerging markets such as South Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, bringing new opportunities for the high-quality development of cross-border trade.
